Shaving Ear lobe hair} best methods! (2)

Shaving or trimming hair off the ear lobes can be challenging for anyone with out cutting or drawing blood and I have tried cartridges and DE razors and electric hair razor. Electric hair trimmer works OK but leaves stubble a bit high, Some DE razors are to aggressive a shave on the ear lopes( nicks), I really have found that the Gillette rockets razor the very best for this delicate area and 2nd choice Gillette super speeds flare tips that are very similar to the Gillette rockets.
It is always nice to have some mild razors in the collection of razors.

Well Ron, that some serious World Class Ear Hair. On you electric clippers you mentions in the other thread, use a "40" blade. IDK what brand you use, that's Osters designation. Go against the grain for a surgical level clip.

I have a Phillips Norelco Multigroom 9000 trimmer. It has several heads and several combs that allow you to trim mustaches, beards, sideburns, eyebrows, body hair, nose hairs, and ear hairs. When trimming hair from my ears, I use a head that has a thin screen similar to a Braun electric razor, except it is small enough to trim both inside and outside my ears. The 9000 series trimmer has all the bells and whistles, including a rechargeable battery and charger, but costs $90. I have had a variety of clippers and trimmers in the past, but this model is the best by far. You should be able to get by with one of the less expensive (but less versatile) models is all you want to do is trim your ear lobes.

This morning I used a Gillette silver blue blade with my 1950's Gillette rocket razor, good results. Top of ear can be the sensitive area for me from past experiences.Shaving Ear lobe hair} best methods! (5)

Wish my ear hair grew on my lobe, and not out the ear hole. I use a nose hair trimmer.

Holy cripes some of you people are masoch*sts.

I have a Wahl groomsman kit. Little buzzy rechargeable-battery thing. It cost $25. Maybe it's a bit more now. It comes with a precision detail head about a half inch wide that handles my nose and ear hair with no real trouble. It also comes with a regular trimmer head and guards to take my goatee down to a stubble every third day. It may not be the most efficient tool for these tasks. But at least it works safely without the risk of looking like Vincent Van Gogh.

I've recently switched barbers and my new one waxes my ears. First time in his chair he asks me if I want my ears cleaned up, I say yes and then he asks "trimmed or waxed?". I've never been waxed (anywhere) before so ask the difference and he says that waxing provides a better & more neat result.

I'm turned away from the mirror so can't see exactly what he's doing but can tell he's placed a strip of wax on each helix. What I can't see is the q-tip thats been placed between the strip and my ear. So there I sit as the wax is cooling. This is at the end of the haircut so he gives me back my glasses and turns so I can see his work and also now see how ridiculous I look with two little antennae sticking out of my earlobes. A couple of quick pulls and the wax is off and yes, it does an excellent job of getting rid of the hair & fuzz.

I use a straight razor for my eyebrows, so I would go with that. But that's me, Nerves of Steel Ouch.

For the lobes I use whatever razor I am shaving with. For inside the ear I use this. Wahl trimmer.

IMO if you can't braid it, it's not long enough to worry about.

I use a nose hair trimmer for any stray hairs around the ear. I use a rechargeable battery in it and it lasts forever between charges. As I've gotten older, I now have fine hairs popping up on the bridge of my nose (very annoying). For this I use a Gillette Super Speed (mild) just before I really get started with my daily shave (Gillette Old Style Open Comb).

My regular barbers do this too, was extremely confused and startled the first time they did it, thought the guy finally lost his marbles haha...

This, gives much longer lasting results than trimming. Of course waxing is better as it will over time reduce hair growth completely
