Samantha Struthers Rader's Parents' Marriage and Her Mother's Experience with Motherhood

Years ago, Samantha's father, a psychiatrist in Los Angeles who founded several clinics, opened up about his relationship with her mother and revealed it was filled with fun. The actress shared the same sentiment during an interview, describing her relationship as a "good marriage."

Additionally, according to Samantha's mom, her arrival was proof of her parents' beautiful bond, despite her mother revealing she never wanted a child and believed she didn't need a "carbon copy" of herself.

However, Sally eventually had a change of heart and was glad she had a child who was a part of the man she loved. But after sharing more about her experiences with motherhood, Samantha's mother admitted to still being intimidated by motherhood and not wanting to become "a babymaker."

Thus, Samantha grew up without siblings, and despite seeming like the perfect couple, her parents went their separate ways after their marriage ended in 1983.

Sally Struthers Was Not Expecting to Have a Daughter

During an appearance on a television talk show hosted by Leta Powell Drake, Samantha's mother opened up about the moment she realized she had given birth to a girl after spending her pregnancy expecting a baby boy.

The "Christmas Harmony" actress revealed she panicked when she had Samantha as she didn't have a name for a baby girl. But the first-time mother eventually found a name for her daughter, who has grown up and followed in her father's footsteps and pursued a career in the medical field.

What Has Samantha Struthers Rader Been up To?

Samantha, also known as Dr. Sam, is a clinical psychologist and the founder and clinical director at Jade Tree Therapy and Sanctuary for Women in Los Angeles.

In 2022, she turned to Instagram to celebrate her work being cited in a New York Times article, captioning the post in part, "This is the first time my work has been recognized in the news without my own planning and outreach. Miracles really do happen!"

After eighteen years of training as a psychotherapist, Samantha took her knowledge of childhood development, personality, and growth and channeled it into Source Code, a new quantum healing modality. Her website reads:

Samantha is also quite active on social media, and a series of posts on Facebook and other social media platforms demonstrate how much of her mother's stunning looks she inherited. Samantha, who also has Linktree, often receives praise from social media users for her looks.

However, in a heartfelt Instagram post from 2021, Samatha revealed she used to live in a world where her "radiance" was a threat. Sally Struthers' daughter has since found the inner assurance and confidence to embrace and flaunt her beauty.
