How to install Mods for Resident Evil 4 Remake PC | Fluffy Mod Manager + (2024)

To install mods that change your character’s outfit (Ashley, Leon and Ada, …) in Resident Evil 4 Remake, there’s a Mods app called “Fluffy Mod Manager”, and I’ll show you how to download it, install it, and apply some of the mods I recommend. will also show you how to troubleshoot the Mod Manager not working after the RTX-specific update in 2023.

If you have already signed up for Nexus Mods, follow the instructions below, otherwise you will need to sign up to download the mods.

You can trust the files you download from Nexus Mods because the administrators of Nexus Mods scan the files available for download from this site for viruses and problems.

From the link above, click Manual Download, indicated by the red arrow in the snapshot below, and then click Slow Download, which will download in 5 seconds.

You don’t need Nexus Mods’ premium download service as the download is fast and the file isn’t very large.

Once downloaded, unzip it to a place you’re comfortable writing and run Modmanager.exe inside the folder as shown below to use it.

Before you select a game, you must have the game installed on your PC.

When you first run the “Modmanager.exe” file, you’ll see the screen below, where you can choose which games you want to use the mods for, or click the red dotted “Downloads” button to update this manager to the latest version.

When you select the games installed on your PC, a folder will be created with the abbreviation of the game name, as shown in the screenshot below.

Installing mods is as simple as downloading the desired files from Nexus Mods and dragging and dropping them into the Mods folder inside the game’s folder without unzipping them. (such as RE4R > Mods folder)

Here are the mods in my Resident Evil 4 Remake folder.

The game must be closed when you apply the mod. After applying the mod, launch the game to see the changed characters.

Place the files in your Mods folder and launch the Fluffy Mod Manager, as shown in the screenshot below, and you will see how many characters and other elements you have for each character, as shown below.

There are two types, as shown below

1️⃣ Single Type
Type applied immediately when clicking a name or button

2️⃣ Type with options
A type that has additional options inside when you click the name

2️⃣ These are the ones where you click on the name and in the screen that appears, the one at the top of the list is the default, and you can select options down the list.

When applying mods, you should not have duplicate outfit types.
Technically, the one you apply later will be applied, but it will cause some errors, so you should avoid duplicate settings.

In the screen below, the red lines are the outfit types.

The mods on Nexus Mods are all free, with the occasional donation request. You can also subscribe to purchase mods on Patreon, but I prefer to buy mods outright rather than subscribe, so I recommend the featured mods on Nexus Mods and the mods on the Cubebrush site where you can purchase mods outright.

The RTX issue is not related to the Resident Evil 4 remake, but to the series released before the Resident Evil 3 remake.

In the mod manager, click “Uninstall all mods” from the menu in the upper right corner, click “Re-read game archives” and reapply the mods you want, this should fix any malfunctions or RTX issues.
