Keto Bacon

If you need a simple recipe for basic keto bacon, our favorite way to prepare it is actually in the oven. Bacon in the oven is easy, you can just put it in the oven and walk away (unlike in a skillet), and it's fantastic for batch cooking larger amounts of bacon for a crowd or for meal prep.

Or honestly, just for eating all week long!

We used the thicker sliced Trader Joes Applewood Smoked Bacon, which is keto-friendly bacon since it's nutritional content per slice: 90 calories, 7 grams of fat, 0g carbs, 0g fiber, and 5g protein.

Here's our favorite bacon in the oven recipe:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 and make sure the oven rack is in the middle position
  2. Lay parchment paper on a jelly roll style baking sheet and evenly space 1 lb of bacon slices so they don't overlap
  3. Using a baking rack is optional, but put the bacon on the rack instead of directly on the parchment paper if you're using one
  4. Cook the bacon for 10 minutes and check for your preferred degree of doneness. Flip the bacon over.
  5. Cook for an additional 5-10 minutes, depending on the thickness and how crispy you prefer your bacon.
  6. Lay the cooked bacon on a couple of paper towels to help remove the grease
  7. Serve warm and enjoy!
